Thank you Amy Butler! For Your Artistry and Inspiration
If someone asked me how I discovered my love for sewing and patterns? I would say two words Amy Butler. Before I even dreamed of starting my own business, her beautiful fabrics and patterns drew me in. I remember I was just starting to learn how to sew and decided I would try her Madison bag pattern. Well, it looked nothing like the picture to say the least, but it did make me want to continue to learn how to sew. I was determined to make that bag and I did!
As much as I love Amy’s patterns, it’s her fabrics that have given me my biggest inspiration. When I finally decided to start 144 Collection, I knew that I had to use Amy Butler fabric. Her choices of color, design and the down-home feeling of her fabrics made it such an easy choice. My favorite collection hands down has to be Soul Blossoms. I have used this fabric collection in so many of my handmade accessories.
I was sad when Amy announced that she would be leaving the quilting industry and Natural Beauty would be her last fabric line. Amy has been such a heavy influence in the quilting world and a talented force to women like me. With every collection, I looked forward to her smiling face wearing her new fabrics. I looked forward to her quilting booths every season. I always hoped that one day I would get to meet her and tell her much she has inspired me. If she looks at my collection, she could definitely tell. Thank you Amy Butler!
